Hello

Let me introduce myself, I'm Yuliza (You-lee-za) Gomez and I am one of the providers here at Gomez Family Childcare. I've lived in the Central Coast area my whole life and have had the pleasure to enjoy all it has to offer.

People describe me as patient, calm, responsible, creative, and ambitious. My hobbies include reading, hiking, and baking. I am always open and willing to try something new.

I obtained my B.A from the University of California Riverside, where I majored in Liberal Studies and Education, Society, and Human development with a concentration in Learning and Behavioral Studies. In college I served as a peer mentor and interned at the California Family Life Center in Rubidoux, where I witness first hand the value and significant impact community resources have on families.

My goals here at Gomez Family Childcare are to create a safe, nurturing environment where every child and their family feels welcomed and allowed to express their cultural values and beliefs without fear of judgment.

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your child's developmental journey. Our team eagerly awaits the opportunity to partner with your family and support your child's growth every step of the way.

Hello everyone!

My name is Daisy Gomez, or as the children know me, Ms. Daisy. I was born and raised here in Santa Maria in a bilingual household. During my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, listening to music, going on walks, and, of course, working with children. I have always enjoyed being around children and helping them learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

A little bit about my educational background: I attended elementary and middle school in OUSD and then graduated from Ernest Righetti High School. Afterwards, I earned two A.A. degrees from Allan Hancock College and transferred to the University of California, Riverside, where I earned my B.A. in Liberal Studies with a minor in Education. My educational experiences have helped shape my passion for working with children and pursuing a career in education.

I have worked for the Santa Maria-Bonita School District as a Bilingual Instructional Assistant for approximately one year and will continue to work there in addition to Gómez Family Childcare. As a Bilingual Instructional Assistant, my role is to work alongside a licensed teacher in the classroom, assisting and supporting students both individually and in small groups. My responsibilities include supporting student learning, assisting with English language development, monitoring students in a variety of settings, helping implement lessons and learning activities, and communicating with non-English-speaking families and community members. During my time as a BIA, I have gained experience working with both 2nd-grade students and Transitional Kindergarten (TK) students, but I am confident and excited to work with children of various ages and developmental levels.

As an employee of Gómez Family Childcare, I strive to provide more than just childcare. My goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn and grow every day. I enjoy incorporating educational activities that promote social skills, fine motor development, creativity through arts and crafts, and age-appropriate learning opportunities. I am also committed to providing educational support in areas where children may need additional guidance, while encouraging confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning.

I look forward to getting to know each child and family and being a positive part of their growth and development.

Hi everyone!

My name is Luz Vargas, and I am excited to welcome your family to Gomez Family Childcare.

Originally from Mexico, I raised my three daughters in a bilingual home where Spanish, family traditions, and culture were an important part of everyday life. Those experiences continue to inspire the kind of environment I hope to create in our home. I believe every child should feel welcomed, celebrated, and comfortable being exactly who they are, and I strive to create a place where every child and family feels respected, included, and at home.

For over 20 years, I have worked in school transportation, where I have had the privilege of getting to know and support students from many different backgrounds, including those with diverse learning and support needs. Throughout the years, I have built meaningful relationships with students and their families while helping create a safe, caring, and supportive environment. Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and seen, and I hope to bring those same values into our home each day.

As both a mother and caregiver, my goal is to provide a warm, home-like environment where children can learn through play, build friendships, explore their creativity, and simply enjoy being kids. I look forward to getting to know your family and sharing many joyful moments with your children through laughter, songs, play, and everyday adventures.
